The Shippensburg University Planetarium is hosting a variety of events through January to provide an educational and entertaining experience for the SU community. Each event focuses on star constellations, the night sky, and the many wonders of the cosmos.
On November 20, the Planetarium will host the “Fall Children’s Star Show,” an introduction about the celestial wonders of the sky. This event is intended for children five years and younger.
On December 4, the “Winter Sky” show will direct your gaze to the prominent stars and objects in the sky as winter quickly approaches. An encore presentation of this show will be on January 22, as well.
On December 11 the Planetarium will have a special event titled “Stars,” a lecture-based event on the stars in the night sky that will answer questions regarding how a star is formed and what happens after it dies.
All shows begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are encouraged and tickets are $1, children are half-priced. A limited number of private shows are also available to school groups and local organizations ($40 per show).
