Tyler Dancisin was dead set on attending another university after he graduated from Seneca Valley High School.
Then he visited Shippensburg University to talk with students and faculty from the Communication/Journalism Department.
“Their energy and passion was unmatched and just made me fall in love with the school,” Dancisin said.
Realizing he could get one-on-one attention in one of the few programs in Pennsylvania accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications, Dancisin became a member of Ship’s class of 2022. He is in the Communication/Journalism, Electronic Media Concentration, B.A. program. And he thoroughly enjoys it.
“There are always events going on that will make my day brighter. I have met some of my greatest friends through my major and through being at Ship, and I am beyond thankful for Shippensburg for bringing all of us together,” Dancisin said.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to get involved with student media groups right away, Dancisin has worked his way up to the position of executive producer for SUTV News.
“My major is preparing me for my future by the experience that I am receiving. I would not be where I am at today without my involvement in SUTV News,” Dancisin said.
The budding communications professional has also taken on an internship with Chocolate Hockey, a Hershey Bears blog.
