Abolfazl Farajnezam has about ten years of professional experience in the maritime industry. He has worked as a vessel traffic services supervisor and a maritime/harbor pilot. Still, he knew he wanted something more.

“I felt I needed to improve my leadership skills and prepare myself for the next level in my career,” Farajnezam said.

Farajnezam came to Shippensburg University and entered the Organizational Development and Leadership, Management Information Systems, M.S. program. He says the program provides all the firsthand knowledge necessary for a prospective leader and he appreciates the guidance he receives from knowledgeable, friendly faculty.

“This program covers all aspects of leadership in an organization such as innovation, project management, information systems management and database design,” Farajnezam said.

Outside the classroom, Farajnezam is a graduate assistant for the Finance and Supply Chain Management Department in the John L. Grove College of Business.

“My experience at Shippensburg University has been very positive,” Farajnezam said. “It motivates me in various ways to learn more and prepare myself for my future career as much as possible.”

Farajnezam is a graduate of Danesh High School and Azad University of Iran. He received a Bachelor of Science in Maritime Transportation in 2008. He is set to receive his Master of Science from Ship in 2021.
