On November 20, psychology major and ROTC cadet Megan Kuna ’20 was commissioned a second lieutenant in the US Army. During the socially-distanced ceremony, which was also live broadcast, Kuna reflected on her time at Ship and thanked her family, friends and ROTC cadre.
“You gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone, only to be knocked down again. That way I had to learn to get back up,” Kuna said.
The day was made extra special with Kuna’s first ceremonial salute coming from her father, Jason Kuna, who retired from the Navy.
Kuna is now assigned to the PA National Guard, 28th Infantry Division, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 104th Cavalry Regiment.
