Robert Hewitt, professor emeritus, social work and gerontology, was featured in the 2021 Black History Project, shown in various newspaper articles across Pennsylvania. News reporters from Pennsylvania interviewed Black educators, diversity advocates and other leaders to get a sense of their favorite books with different facets of Black History, to include fewer familiar texts that have inspired them and shaped their worldview. Hewitt’s selections include: “The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Makings of American Capitalism by Edward E. Baptist, “The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of American’s Great Migration” by Isabel Wilkerson, and “The Heritage: Black Athletes, A Divided America, And the Politics of Patriotism.” by Howard Bryant.

In the link shown below to the full article in the York Daily Record, Hewitt is shown reading excerpts from the book, “The Warmth of Other Suns.”
