Shippensburg University is excited to further expand the in-person experiences for students in the fall 2021 semester. New and returning Raiders can expect the full Ship experience.
“What our campus community accomplished in the last year is nothing short of extraordinary, and we’re excited to keep pushing forward and provide students with opportunities that look more like campus prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dr. Tom Ormond, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
Classes begin on August 23 and students can expect the elimination of social distancing in the classroom and the reintroduction of research, study abroad and internship opportunities. Additional information about the classroom experience will be available on May 15.
A robust campus life is in the works including the return of homecoming, tailgating, fraternity and sorority life activities, performing arts, face-to-face club meetings, athletic events and discounted downtown dining and shopping options through the Raider Bucks program.
Students can also expect the return of all dining options with the addition of an exciting new student-requested favorite (details to be release soon). Programs and events will return to ShipRec, the Library, Luhrs Center, Memorial Auditorium and Ship will open the doors to its Downtown Centers for Excellence.
The university will continue to have health and well-being measures in place, which may include face coverings, case investigations, testing and vaccinations, in accordance with the PA Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control guidelines. The university also will continue to follow Department of Education, State System guidance and make adjustments accordingly as conditions warrant.
Additional details and updates for the fall semester are available on the Raider Respect page.
