Campus Community:
As we prepare for Dean Nicole Hill to assume the role of interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jose Ricardo-Osorio will serve as interim dean of the College of Education and Human Services effective July 1, 2022. Dr. Ricardo has a BA in Modern Languages from Universidad del Atlántico (Barranquilla, Colombia). He earned a master’s in Spanish and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Arkansas. During his 17-year tenure at Shippensburg University, he has served as UCC chair, interim associate dean in the College of Education and Human Services and College of Arts and Sciences, and acting associate provost for Educational Effectiveness Assessment.
With Dr. Ricardo recently completing his tenure as interim associate dean of the College of Education and Human Services, he is well poised to assume leadership of the College. We are grateful for his willingness to step up and serve as Interim Dean as of July 1.
Thank you.
Tom Ormond
