Dr. Ian Langella, professor and chair of Supply Chain Management, and Dr. David Hwang, associate professor of Supply Chain Management, together with Dr. Rainer Kleber, professor of operations management at the University of Magdeburg Germany, had their article “An alternative food pantry responds to the pandemic: A case study on service redesign” accepted for publication in the Operations Management Education Review. The case study uses the food pantry Shippensburg Produce and Outreach and its response to the virus crisis to illustrate various supply chain management facets. The authors hope that the article leads to greater service learning between business schools and universities and their local food pantries and food banks.
