On November 12, local leaders gathered at Shippensburg University’s Reisner Dining Hall in the Tuscarora Room for the Regional Leaders Breakfast, a special event that brings the university and the greater community together. Attendees enjoyed a delicious breakfast while connecting with each other and exploring new partnerships within and outside of the university. 

The event included a series of presentations from key Shippensburg University leaders. Lorelee Isbell, associate VP of career and workforce development, welcomed attendees and discussed the university’s commitment to supporting the local workforce. University President Charles E. Patterson spoke about Ship’s role as the foundation of education and professional growth in the region. Provost and VP of Academic Affairs, Darrell E. Newtown emphasized the university’s dedication to the community and shared several examples of how the university is working to address regional needs through academic programs and initiatives. 

A panel of university professional and local business leaders also shared their experiences, discussing potential collaborative opportunities. These discussions provided insight into how community members and businesses can work together and utilize campus resources – such as internship programs, workforce development training and research partnerships.
