Senior accounting major Nathan Garber is the new SGA President. Currently, Garber is completing a tax internship with SEK CPAs & Advisors, has leadership experience with Disciple Makers and the Ship Cycling Club and spends his weekends working on his family’s farm. His long-term goal is to work in public accounting for small businesses.

As SGA President, Garber’s top priority is increasing student engagement and inclusivity within SGA. “Many students don’t even know SGA exists,” he said. “I hope to improve that by working closely with elected members to enhance communication with all students and departments.”

To achieve this goal, Garber plans to create more spaces, such as public forums, where students can voice their concerns.

McCleary views his role as an opportunity to highlight SGA and promote student groups. “For instance, the Chess Club is heading to Poland this summer for a tournament—something worth spotlighting on SGA’s social media,” he said.

He plans to highlight one student group and one SGA member each week on social media, and aims to hold Senators accountable by ensuring they hold office hours with students and advocate for them.
