Cristina Rhodes was elected VP/President-Elect of the Children’s Literature Association, becoming the first Latina to hold the position in the organization’s 50+ year history. Her leadership begins in summer 2-25 and continues into the presidency in 2026.
Alongside Thomas Crochunis, Rhodes co-hosted a visit from acclaimed author Torrey Maldonado, who spoke at both Shippensburg University and Chambersburg Area High School. His visit was part of a collaborative community effort to connect students with authors whose work explores social justice, race and identity.
William Harris presented his paper “More Than Junk in the Trunk: Nervous Masculinity, Camp and the Recuperation of Grooming in Films by Hitchcock & Capra” at the College English Association national conference in Philadelphia
