Shippensburg University is pleased to announce the launch of Student-Made Shippensburg, an online platform designed to market and sell student-created products. This new platform is made possible through a partnership with the Student-Made Store, as well as grant from the PA Creative Industries, powered by the PA Council on the Arts, and support of the Shippensburg University Foundation.
This is a unique opportunity for students to gain real-world business and leadership experience and share their own unique brands on a larger scale. Student creators can sell items including, but not limited to handmade art prints, jewelry, candles, costumes, clothing, bags, glass art, stickers, and more! The platform incorporates support systems for everything needed to run a business like marketing, shipping, events, partnerships, content, collaborations, promotion, finances and strategy.
Diana Gurecka, a senior criminal justice major, joined Student-Made Shippensburg to sell her own brand of hair scrunchies, tote bags, dog bandanas, and claw clips.
“Student-Made Shippensburg is an amazing opportunity to grow my business. They are an amazing organization made of entrepreneurs that want to see me grow! Shippensburg University and Student-Made are here for me and my business journey,” said Gurecka.
Beyond the online store platform, Student-Made Shippensburg also provides unique leadership opportunities by selecting a team of student managers for the university’s store.
Student-Made Shippensburg will be the newest resource available to student entrepreneurs at Ship, joining the Charles H. Diller Jr. Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation, and the Mr. and Mrs. Milton K. Morgan III Makerspace.
“I am inspired by the creativity and drive exhibited by our students and equally inspired by the entrepreneurial ecosystem we continue to develop and enhance at Ship. Through the Diller Center, Makerspace and now the Student-Made Shippensburg, students can cultivate their ideas, talents, and skills, and turn them into a profitable businesses venture,” said Dr. Charles E. Patterson, president of Shippensburg University.
Robin Burtner, director of the Shippensburg University Small Business Development Center and interim director of the Diller Center, worked with Student-Made during the fall 2025 semester to gauge student interest in the store’s launch and promote the concept across various campus audiences. A high level of interest led to an official partnership, with the store set to launch in fall of 2026.
“Launching the Student-Made program at Shippensburg University next fall is incredibly exciting for us. It’s clear that Shippensburg has a strong sense of community and a deep commitment to student success and experiential learning, which makes it the perfect place for our program to thrive,” said Lindsay Reeth, co-founder and CEO of Student-Made.
“I’m incredibly excited to bring the student-made store to Shippensburg as a space where creativity meets real-world experience. This initiative empowers students to explore their talents, build entrepreneurial skills, and apply what they’re learning in the classroom to real life. I’m especially looking forward to the cross-college and cross-campus collaboration that will spark innovation, strengthen connections, and expand what’s possible for both students and our broader community,” said Burtner.
Student creators interested in joining Student-Made Shippensburg can apply online.
