On April 17, 2021, Doug Ensley, Mathematics, received the 2021 James P. Crawford Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching and the 2021 Distinguished Service Award from the Eastern Pennsylvania – Delaware section of the Mathematical Association of America. The selection committee cites among Doug’s qualities and accomplishments: the testimony of his students about his inspirational teaching and mentorship; his remarkable involvement in, and support of, undergraduate research; and his immense and outstanding impact in a wide variety of other areas including curriculum development, outreach, book authorship, and grant work, as well as his significant and positive influence at Shippensburg University, in the region, and at the national level.
