Shippensburg University senior Trent Bauer received the surprise of a lifetime when he flew to California for what he thought was a taping of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” During the show, DeGeneres called Bauer from the studio audience and presented him with $10,000 as part of Ellen’s “One Million Acts of Good” challenge.
Bauer’s roommate contacted the show earlier, highlighting Bauer’s good acts and the inspiration he draws from DeGeneres. Bauer is an active member of the SU community and began an organization on campus to provide resources and support for the LGBTQ+ community. His hope for the organization is to help everyone at Ship feel at home regardless of their sexual orientation.
During the show, DeGeneres said she hoped the money would help Bauer with college expenses and to continue his great work. Watch his exciting moment here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6-9pxop-jA
