Once Morgan Hill decided accounting was the career path she wanted to follow, she found her way into the Ship family.
“I knew the John L. Grove College of Business was an AACSB-accredited business school that could provide me with the accounting program I needed to succeed,” Hill said.
Hill is a graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and a member of Shippensburg University’s class of 2021. While Ship wasn’t her original choice of school, the accounting program’s high ranking for Certified Public Accounting Examination pass rates was a major draw.
“The College of Business is packed with such wonderful faculty and staff that are committed to their jobs and our success as students,” Hill said. “As an accounting student, it is easily recognizable that the department behind me will do whatever it takes to help me achieve my dreams.”
Hill also opted to take on a second major in marketing, providing her with additional skills and versatility in the job market. Taking on a second major is no small feat, but Hill notes that she has found plenty of support at Ship to make it possible.
“It is comforting knowing I have advisors, mentors and staff on my side,” Hill said. “My relationships with past professors and advisors has provided me with invaluable advice. And it is good to know if I need a recommendation there is one an email away. Shippensburg is a wonderful university with a great sense of community. Ship is a door holding school. Someone is always holding the door for you with a smile. It facilitates conversations to begin new connections with fellow students.”
Outside the classroom, Hill has taken on a tax and audit internship with SEK, CPAs & Advisors. She is also a member of In-Motion Dance Troupe on campus and serves as the organization’s treasurer.
