On behalf of Scott Barton, Senior Vice President, Administration & Finance.
First and foremost, I want to take a moment to thank you for your willingness to go above and beyond to accomplish all we have done over the last several months. Your continued hard work has ensured that our university continues to move forward during this extremely challenging time.
Your patience, understanding, and collaborative spirit is greatly appreciated as we prepare for employees and students to return to campus. As communicated last week, today we provide additional details to all employees about the plan for returning to campus, and a process for those who have personal concerns and are interested in requesting alternative work arrangements.
Attached to this correspondence you will find the Return-to-Campus-Guidance for all Shippensburg University employees. Please take the time to read through this guidance and familiarize yourself with the various expectations associated with returning to campus. Please note that in order to comply with the July 1, 2020 Order from Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine, all employees working on campus (regardless of frequency) are required to wear a face mask.
After reading the Return to Campus Guidance, team members who have personal concerns for returning to campus or are interested in requesting alternative work arrangements should use the Request for Flexible Work Arrangement form or the ADA Accommodations Request form. In adherence with State System guidance as stated in the 2020 Fall Framework document, please complete the appropriate form and return it, and any related documentation, to Nipa Browder, Assistant Director of Human Resources and Benefits Manager at nbrowder@ship.edu. To assist in planning related to our return to campus, please send your request by July 10, 2020 and label the email as Request for Flexible Work Arrangement.
The Office of Human Resources will collect and compile all the forms that have been submitted and will work diligently to reach out to individuals with next steps. As we begin the process of returning to campus, directors and deans should prepare to return to campus on Monday July 13th. On July 13th, the facilities team will work in conjunction with the COVID Response Office and department heads to ensure that the office space meets the department’s needs before additional team members are brought back to campus. Individual department leaders will contact their department members with the staged date that additional department members will return to campus. Thank you for your continued commitment and dedication to our Ship community.
We still have many challenges to work through, but by working together, I am confident that we will continue to successfully navigate our path forward.
If you have additional questions after reviewing the referenced documents, please reach out to Nipa Browder at nbrowder@ship.edu.
