The Campus Compact of New York & Pennsylvania (CCNYPA) and the Mid-Atlantic AmeriCorps Regional Office have approved Shippensburg University as an AmeriCorps VISTA Host Site for 2021-22 academic year. This collaborative VISTA opportunity will serve across the different colleges at Shippensburg University and will specifically partner with the Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School to coordinate a mentoring program with the hopes of expanding to other schools in the Shippensburg Area School District (SASD). The VISTA will also build out an infrastructure to provide COVID care packages to local SASD children in isolation and quarantine for the 2021-22 academic year.
The VISTA will start, July 19, 2021 and will serve until July 20, 2022. Applications are being accepted now until June 25, 2021. For more information and to apply, visit the AmeriCorps Position Posting.
