Spring is finally here! And what better way to welcome in the spring season than to give back to the Shippensburg community. The month of April is open to many great opportunities to serve, including providing meals for the community.
Every Friday this semester from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Shippensburg students, staff and faculty have come together to prepare Grab-N-Go meals for Shippensburg residents. So far 58 meals have been provided so far and with your help that number can go up!
Rachel Hastie, a sophomore social work major, has volunteered twice to make sandwiches. When asked why, Rachel said “I signed up to volunteer for Community Meals because it is one way I can help out in the community and help those in need.”
In addition to the meal preparation and distribution, donations have been coming in from the Shippensburg community to the Office of Community Engagement in the CUB, room 221. If you would like to donate food or gift cards that can be used at local stores, you can drop them off there.
Don’t miss out on spring service days! This opportunity is open to all! Spots are still available for April 23 in CUB room 221 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sign up here!
