Cheyenne Port graduated from the MSW program in 2019 and currently works as a licensed social worker for Wernersville State Hospital in Pennsylvania. During her time in the program, Port pursued an internship at Harrisburg School District and served as a graduate assistant for the Office of Professional, Continuing and Distance Education. Port said the MSW program taught her advocacy skills, critical thinking skills and how to navigate political systems and policy making. Also, she believes the best part of the MSW program is experiencing a cohort comprised of peers to learn from and support. As a double-alumni from Shippensburg’s fully accredited social work programs, she advises prospective students to “choose Ship – you won’t regret it.”
