Dear Members of the Shippensburg University Community:
Shippensburg University finds itself in a unique position. Our current interim president brings an understanding of our institution and system from the experience of serving as president at another PASSHE institution along with his interim presidency here. Since we are allowed to explore an interim and their candidacy before deciding to recruit additional candidates, the search committee chose to explore the candidacy of Dr. Charles Patterson more fully.
The Presidential Search Committee has been meeting over the last five months including most recently vetting Dr. Patterson through a series of interviews and background work. The next part of consideration in this process involves getting feedback from students, faculty, and staff, to include campus community perspectives on Dr. Patterson’s potential for serving as the permanent president. This feedback will be critically important as the committee considers next steps and as the Council of Trustees considers its options.
The Presidential Search Committee is pleased to announce the on-campus interview of Dr. Patterson for consideration as the permanent president of Shippensburg University on Monday, April 18. Dr. Patterson will be participating in on-campus interviews with constituent groups. All members of the campus community will be invited to attend a session. Please check the Presidential Search committee webpage Shippensburg University – Presidential Search for a time and location for open forums. Individuals will also receive an email if invited to a smaller group interview.
A survey will be shared that same day for you to provide feedback on the interview to the search committee.
Doug Harbach
Presidential Search Committee Chair
