In May of 2023, Dr. Elizabeth Aragunde, music and theatre arts, led two dozen members of the Shippensburg University Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers on a ten-day tour of the Baltics, the farthest east any ensemble from Ship has ever travelled! The choir performed in historical venues in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to packed audiences with standing room only and to enthusiastic, rousing responses from the crowds. The Madrigal Singers were spontaneously invited to perform on national television in Lithuania and were given a coveted performance spot on “Layas rytas, Lietuva” (Good Morning, Lithuania), a first for any student group or ensemble from Shippensburg.
