Shippensburg University welcomed new and returning students to campus with a series of fun events during Fall Welcome Week (FWW). The festivities kicked off on August 22 with Move-In Day, where first-year students settled into their residence halls.

The day was followed by a Welcome Rally featuring the university band, color guard, SU Cheer and a special dance performance by student ambassadors, Big Red and Shippo!

On August 23, at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center, the FWW Convocation Ceremony featured speeches from key university leaders, including President Charles Patterson, Provost and VP of Academic Affairs, Darrell Newton, Student Government Association (SGA) President, Lillian Sellers, Council of Trustees student representative, Colin Arnold, Professor of Psychology, Dr. Sue Morin and more.

Then, students enjoyed the university-wide Big Red cookout, complete with great food, games and activities. The day was completed with a bright and lively glow party – filled with loads of bubbles and neon lights!

On August 24, students participated in Breakfast Bingo at Reisner Hall and later a block party that featured competitive games and arts and crafts. Fall Welcome Week wrapped up on August 25 with a Multicultural Student Affairs meet-and-greet at the CUB.

Now that all students are back on campus and classes are in full swing, the university encourages everyone to get involved and participate in all the fun activities that are still yet to come!
