Shippensburg University celebrates commissioning of 14 Army ROTC Cadets

On Saturday, May 9, Shippensburg University celebrated 14 graduating ROTC cadets during the annual Army ROTC Commissioning ceremony in the Luhrs Performing Arts Center. Major General John A. Munera, USA (Ret.), an alumnus of the university, served as the keynote speaker during the ceremony prior to the cadets commissioning, oath of office, and first salutes. PA Senator Greg Rothman also addressed those in attendance during the ceremony.

The following individuals were commissioned as second lieutenants.

  • Colin Arnold – Active Duty – JAG Corps
  • Aiden Brenize – Active Duty – Army Nurse Corps
  • Brayden Crawford – National Guard – Military Intelligence
  • Emily Curley – National Guard – Adjutant General
  • John Devlin – National Guard – Signal Corps
  • Michael Dzorkpey – National Guard – Signal Corps
  • Joseph Kunsman – National Guard – Cyber Corps
  • Raymond Lazar – Active Duty – Armor
  • Josiah Leanard – Active Duty – Signal Corps
  • Ty Livelsberger – Active Duty – Military Police
  • Owen Shelson – National Guard – Logistics
  • Asher Stein – National Guard – Logistics
  • Noah Stern – US Army Reserve – Logistics
  • Grace Thomas – National Guard – Finance Corps

Arnold, Kunsman, and Stern were also named Distinguised Military Graduates (DMG). DMGs are commissioning cadets who were in the top 20 percent of Army ROTC graduates on the national Order of Merit List by achieving superior grade-point averages, strong performance in the Army Combat Fitness Test, and showcasing their abilities of exceptional leaders.
