We hope this e-mail finds you well and ready to enjoy a little rest and relaxation for your Fall Break. We appreciate all of your efforts so far this season with masking, testing, vaccinations and more that has allowed us to flourish! In the past two weeks, we have seen our number of positive cases and those put into quarantine go down. We need your help in making sure we keep this trend going!

FALL BREAK REMINDER

While you are enjoying Fall Break, please mindful of your interactions outside the community and do your best to limit exposure and mitigate the risk of infection. Wear a mask, limit close contact with individuals and be vigilant to protect your health and the well-being of your family and everyone here at Shippensburg.

After Fall Break, we have much to celebrate including Homecoming and Halloween, so do not risk missing out by possibly needing 10 days of isolation or quarantine! Wear a mask, get tested and be vigilant while you are away.

VACCINATIONS

Unvaccinated people are 10 times more likely than vaccinated people to be hospitalized and 11 times more likely to die from the coronavirus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you have not gotten vaccinated yet, we highly encourage you to do so. Vaccinations have been shown to be effective in lessening symptoms as well as cutting down on the spread of this virus. Our next on-campus Vaccination clinic will be October 27th, so if you have not vaccinated, please sign for our next on campus clinic.

VACCINATION INFORMATION SESSION

Please join us October 20th for a COVID-19 Vaccination Information Session at the Orndorff Theatre (CUB 123) at 12 p.m. Our expert panel includes President Charles Patterson, Dr. Robin McCann (Professor of Biochemistry), Dr. Jeremy Paul Post (alumnus and pharmacist), and Wes Mallicone (Director of Shippensburg University Sports Medicine) and Wesley Fernelis (Exercise Science major and staff at R3 Testing Center). You can also watch this panel live at: https://ship.zoom.us/j/94635491702
