Junior communication journalism major Margaret Sobotta joined in on the World Kindness Day celebration at Ship and learned a lot about her community. Sobotta, a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), shared her day with photos from events around campus in hopes that others will decide to give back and spread kindness.

“On World Kindness Day I saw students come together to take care of their college home. These students took time out of their busy day to help the community of Shippensburg. I feel like I have a community of individuals behind me that will care for me because they care for their school, and those around them,” said Sobotta.

Over 80 students received free coffee from Starbucks and Dunkin, an act of kindness funded by the Alumni Association. Kind words were shared with strangers, as student painted notes of encouragement on rocks then placed them in random locations around campus. And 5o hours of service were donated by students in a campus clean up project.
