On Thursday, Sept. 26th, 2024, Hayley Anderson, the director of communications and outreach for Career and Workforce Development, was a finalist for the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance (CVBA) Young Professional Awards. Anderson was also a finalist for the Rising Award. The award recognizes individuals with five years or less experience who demonstrate great potential within their careers. Eligible candidates must live or work in the Cumberland Valley area and be 40 years of age or younger.

Anderson learned about her nomination through a phone call from the CVBA. Later, she discovered that Lorelee Isbell, associate vice president for Career and Workforce Development is who elected her for the award.

“Her unwavering support, mentorship, and encouragement to me since becoming an SU staff member has been something I will never take for granted,” said Anderson.

During the awards event, held at Chambersburg’s Capitol Theatre, Anderson enjoyed a night alongside her colleagues.

“The awards ceremony was such a fun evening filled with good food, laughs, community, and shedding light on all of the incredible young talent that the Cumberland Valley region has to offer. It was organized and executed by SU alumna, Bailey Cassada. I was fortunate enough to have many Center for Career and Workforce Development team members by my side – it means the world to me that they took the time out of their very busy lives to be there and offer their support,” she added.
