Homecoming weekend is right around the corner! On Saturday, October 18, 2024, Shippensburg University will be announcing Homecoming Royalty during halftime at the Ship vs Kutztown football game, located at Seth Grove Stadium.

Ship is proud to recognize the nine nominees this year, all of which are students who have exemplified a commitment to staying involved on campus and giving back to the local community. All the proceeds raised by each nominee will directly support the SCRC’s Hounds Pack Program, serving food-insecure students throughout the Shippensburg area.

“I am a senior sociology major with a double minor in psychology and international development in education. On campus I am heavily involved in Student Ambassadors, I work with the mascots, have an internship with the Office of Admissions, and do research with the Connors Institute. I am running for homecoming royalty as a way to represent myself and my peers and hopefully make a lasting impact on the school environment, as well as on the memories. “

Brooklynn Rupert, Sponsor: Women’s Tennis

“Being a senior student-athlete majoring in Supply Chain Logistics and Business Management, I would love the opportunity to represent you as Homecoming Queen! Through my community service, leadership skills, and personality, I hope to have your support. I have proudly dedicated much of my time to the university and community of Shippensburg and will continue to do so!”

Abigail Reasoner, Sponsor: Shippensburg University Recreation Center

“I am a senior Political Science Major, and I am running for homecoming because I wanted to be able to represent the clubs that have made my time so enjoyable here at Ship. These clubs have played a huge role in my development as the person I am today, so this is my way of giving back. I also believe that running would be a great experience to look back upon in my future.”

Drew Landis, Sponsor: History and Philosophy Department

” I am a senior History BSED Major and I want to be on the court because I truly believe that I represent a lot of people. I am involved in many diverse student groups on campus such as the Marching Band, ROTC, the history department, the education department, the tutoring center, and the Disciple Makers Christian Fellowship (DCF). These groups, on top of studying Arabic abroad for the past three summers, have taught me a lot about culture and community and I hope to learn more about cultures and bring the Shippensburg community together by representing it as homecoming royalty!

Connor Baca, Sponsor: Residence Hall Association and Activities Programming Board

“Hey everyone, my name is Connor Baca, and I am a psychology major graduating in December! I am running for Homecoming, being co-sponsored by the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and Activities Programming Board (APB) with my goal for running being to advertise both organizations, and their mission, and foster a community feeling across campus. I also love the idea of raising money for an incredible local organization doing good deeds in the community!”

Tymere Harris, Sponsor: Activities Programming Board and Multicultural Student Affairs

“Hi everyone, I am a Mechanical Engineering major in the class of 2025 at Shippensburg University, and I am running for Homecoming royalty to honor my love for this university and the growth I’ve experienced here. I want every student, especially students of color, both current and future, to know that this campus is full of opportunities; it’s not about where you come from, but how far you aspire to go. I am living proof that with determination, you can achieve your dreams.”

Nicholas Albert, Sponsor: Shippensburg University Marching Band
