Shippensburg University welcomed the newest members of the Ship family during the annual Convocation ceremony in the Luhrs Center. In the evening, Ship celebrated the start of the new academic year with fire works and a carnival.
Fall Welcome Week continued as the newest members of the Ship family explored their new home. The day was filled with dancing, laughing and getting to know Ship!
Software engineering major Ace Walker is career ready thanks to the faculty mentors and hands-on experience that define Ship’s School of Engineering.
Communication/journalism major and Wood Honors College student Katie Sweigart is building the future she wants at Ship. Through challenging coursework, internships and experience in the SUTV studio, Katie is prepared and ready for what comes after graduation.
Social work graduate student Alexandra Jones is spent her summer working with the Shippensburg Summer Lunch Program. The program provides free lunch and programming to school-age children in the Shippensburg community. Jones valued the opportunity to give back during her graduate experience, while enhancing her social work skills.
It was all hands on deck, as the the newest members of the Ship community arrived during Move-In Day 2019. Faculty, staff and students helped unpack cars, move boxes and welcome the new students.
