On Saturday, May 11, Shippensburg University Army ROTC commissioned 13 second lieutenants during a ceremony in Old Main Chapel.

The ceremony featured remarks from Shippensburg University alumnus, Brigadier General Antonio Munera ‘91, The Deputy Commanding General, US Army Cadet Command, and first Shippensburg ROTC graduate to become an Army general.

The newly commissioned second lieutenants are:

  • Patrick Hiller
  • Donovan Kendall
  • Reilly Kline
  • Kirsten Kramer

  • Logan Redcay
  • Joshua Stewart

“We couldn’t be more proud of these new second lieutenants. They represent the best of what our communities and nation has to offer, willing to stand up and serve something bigger than themselves. Knowing these young women and men, I am confident and optimistic in the future of our Army and of our country,” said Shippensburg University professor of military science, Lt. Col. Chris Morton.

In December, Shippensburg University Army ROTC commissioned two second lieutenants and expects to commission four more in July. With 19 cadets commissioned this fiscal year, Shippensburg University Army ROTC will commission its largest class in 30 years.
