Shippensburg University women up in arms, literally, joined women around the world to mark International Women’s Day on March 3, 2020. Students, faculty and staff posed with parallel arms to symbolize the equal sign and demonstrate a call to action to forge a more gender equal community. Celebrated around the world, this day of advocacy brings together every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country in an effort to create the gender-equal world we all deserve.

“We were very excited to see the Ship community rally behind this initiative. It was great to see so many students take the pledge and share their photos and the message of this event on social media as well,” said Glenda Cosby, event coordinator and student success coach.

Pledge participants received a purple ribbon to wear and display their support for gender equality and took pictures with President Laurie A. Carter. View the entire ShipNow Photo Gallery>
