It’s time to Viva Las Ship! The Shippensburg University Homecoming Parade is back after 12 long years and you’re invited to enjoy the fun! The parade steps off on October 15 at 10:00 a.m. at King and Fayette Streets and will enter campus at the Prince Street entrance.
“We’re excited to bring back the annual homecoming parade and hope that the entire Shippensburg community will join us as we welcome back alumni and celebrate our community! Everyone loves a parade and I know they’ll especially love what we have planned,” said Colleen Patterson, First Lady of Shippensburg University.
Community members are invited to enter walking units or decorate a vehicle. This year’s theme is Viva Las Ship! Parade registration is open until October 7. Downtown homes and businesses are also encourage to paint the town red and blue with decorative storefronts.
A bus is available to the downtown parade route for alumni and students.
Bus picks up locations are on the right side of the road. Two on campus pick up and drop off times are available.
First Round
9:10 a.m. pick up in front of the CUB
9:15 a.m. pick up in front of Harley Hall
9:25 a.m. pick up at Marriot Hotel
9:35 a.m. drop off downtown in front of Clarion Hotel (UGrille)
Second Round
9:45 a.m. pick up in front of the CUB
9:50 a.m. pick up in front of Harley Hall
10:00 a.m. drop off downtown in front of Clarion Hotel (UGrille)
Post Parade
10:40 a.m. pick up for students and alumni in front of Clarion Hotel and drop of at CUB and Marriot
11:15 a.m. pick up for students and alumni in front of Clarion Hotel and drop off at CUB
