Shippensburg University is pleased to announce its Honors Program has been approved to begin the transition to an Honors College.

The program has prepared for the transition to an Honors College by working to fulfill thirteen characteristics established by the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC). The characteristics address the areas of recruitment and admissions; curricular, co-curricular and residential life opportunities; graduation distinctions; alumni affairs and development; and assessment.

Students in Ship’s Honors Program benefit from small classes, specialized teaching, and exciting research, as well as study abroad, and internship opportunities. Students in the program also participate in special social, cultural, and community service activities.

The full implementation of the revised Honors curriculum is set for fall 2019 and will coincide with the 35th anniversary of honors education at Ship.
