Shippensburg University’s Office of Connection – Drug and Alcohol Services was awarded a Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board grant, funding programs that focus on proven strategies to discourage and reduce both underage and dangerous drinking.

Ship will use the $19,300 grant to start a student-led initiative to create relatable content and programming that educates peers on the consequences of drug and alcohol use. The content will include videos, posters, guest speakers and an alcohol-free tailgate celebration at Ship’s annual homecoming event.

Ship’s Office of Connection educates and empowers students to make healthy choices and responsible decisions regarding the use of alcohol and other drugs. Through prevention, education, intervention and community coalition resources, the office helps students persevere and find support at Ship.
