Dr. Jerry Carbo, professor of management, is making big changes in the work place and the classroom. Carbo is president of the National Work Place Bullying Coalition and in recent months helped move forward the Dignity at Work Act in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The act works to prevent, detect, remedy and eliminate workplace bullying.
As he continues his work to impact the work place of today, he’s also advocating for the work place of tomorrow by sharing his expertise with his students. In Carbo’s course Business and Society students analyze and discuss real-world situations and consider policy changes that can impact real change.
“We’re no longer looking inward at what impacts the business. Now we’re looking at how business impacts the broader society,” said Carbo.
